In the 54th meeting of the GST Council held on Monday, the GST on medicines used in the treatment of cancer has been reduced from 12% to 5%. This decision will reduce the cost of cancer treatment. Earlier in the budget, the government had made the customs duty on 3 important cancer medicines zero. After which no tax is being levied on these medicines. A large number of people will benefit from both these decisions.
